OUR CASE HISTORIES
FONTAINE – PUSH PILE FOUNDATION UNDERPINNING
Two story 1940’s home in Millcreek Ravine with walkout end in Edmonton that had evidence of foundation movement and settlement over a portion of the walkout end of the foundation. The owner was selling the property and needed to have the foundation stabilized. We assessed the pattern of settlement and put together an Engineered Plan for Underpinning Remediation using our Proprietary Steel Pipe Push Pile Technology.
PROJECT GOALS
- Stabilize a portion of the exterior foundation walls
- Repair all cracks, waterproof foundation and install weeping tile
PROJECT CHALLENGES
- Extremely deep excavation in a tight access area on a slope
- Keeping project within client’s budget parameters
- Piles required had very tight access.
OUR APPROACH
- Soil bore holes were obtained, loads required were calculated, piles locations were engineered, piles were designed and a Building Permit was obtained.
- Project was completed on schedule and on budget during winter months
- We put together a detailed schedule for the project to manage and perform all work
- All installed piles were installed, loaded and loads confirmed through a load testing process
- A comprehensive Engineered Turnover Package was supplied to the client and required Engineer’s Compliance provided for the building permit and project
