AHS – PUSH PILE FOUNDATION UNDERPINNING
A tendered project for a large General Contractor on a Provincial Health Care Facility. A section of this building had settled. We performed the project using our Proprietary Steel Pipe Push Pile Technology with very stringent Engineering and reporting requirements.
PROJECT GOALS
- Lift and Stabilize a portion of the buildings foundation
- Restore project landscape
- Maintain building function during project
PROJECT CHALLENGES
- Varying soils at different depths in a small area
- Maintaining schedule on a multi faceted project while maintaining safety access for a health services building
- Prior contractors remediation attempts now presented obstacles that had to be dealt with
- Deep excavation in a tight area
- Lifting brick without creating further damage
OUR APPROACH
- Pile Design, Job Hazard Analysis and Schedule assessment
- We put together a detailed schedule for the project to manage and perform all work
- Project completed on schedule and on budget
- ASTM load testing was performed
- All exterior areas were fully restored
- A comprehensive Engineered Turnover Package was supplied to the client and required City Schedules completed for the building permit and project
